Smoked Whiskey Hot Apple Cider – Christiann Koepke

  • 4 1/2 c. fresh apple cider cold pressed
  • 2 c. pomegranate juice
  • 18 orange peel slices about 3-4 oranges
  • 1 1/2 apples sliced in wedges
  • 6 cinnamon stick
  • 18 dried rose hips
  • 12 star anise
  • 6 t. butter
  • 6 t. pure maple syrup
  • 12 oz  Highland Park Dark Origins Whisky
  • Warm all ingredients except for whisky on stove in medium sized saucepan on medium low. Do not boil, bring to simmer and keep on low. Just before serving add whisky and warm slightly.
